Wirral Neptune Project
Work is now under way on Phase 2 of the redevelopment of New Brighton Sea Front on the Wirral. Phase 1, the rebuild of the Floral Pavilion was completed in 2008.
The 60m Phase 2 project will consist of new Morrison’s Supermarket, a 66-bed Travelodge hotel, a digital six screen/1000 seat digital cinema, bars, restaurants, a new model boating lake, a public lido and other public spaces, as well as improved public transport links. There will also be a large pedestrian street separating this from a crescent shaped second building fronting the existing Marine Lake which will provide the focus for leisure use including, a watersports training centre. Details of the outline planning application can be found by clicking here.
The scheme is expected to create hundreds of jobs, during both the construction phase and when the amenities open for business giving a huge boost to the local economy. Further information on the development can be found by clicking here.
Pali intend to provide a visual record as the construction progresses. ‘Virtual tours’ will be displayed on this website at various stages of the development until its completion, due in August 2011. These can be viewed below.
